Jamie Ballard and Aria Shahghasemi to Star in "Macbeth" at The Curtain
 

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Curtain, Jersey City's premier classical theatre, announced that renowned West End and Royal Shakespeare Company actor Jamie Ballard ('Harry Potter' in ...The Cursed Child on the West End) will make his American stage debut as 'Macbeth' alongside Aria Shahghasemi (Broadway's Prayer for the French Republic, The CW's "Legacies") as 'Macduff' in an all new adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, this Halloween season at Nimbus Arts Center (329 Warren Street).

Jazz saxophonist Godwin Louis to perform and release new album at WBGO After Work Jazz Series concert
 

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Grammy-nominated saxophonist Godwin Louis heads to Newark for the next installment of the WBGO After Work Jazz Series, part of the powerhouse jazz station's 45th anniversary celebration. Louis will perform two concerts on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 — at 4:45pm and at 6:15pm — in the courtyard of the Newark Main Library.

Haddonfield Tween Studies With Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Players on Merit Scholarship
 

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- The prestigious Philadelphia International Music Camp and Festival awarded the Alice Downs Scholarship for Young Violinists to Henry Gralish, 12, of Haddonfield, NJ, who used it in July to immerse himself in PIMF's intensive classical music training program on the grounds of the Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne, PA.

I didn't even know the music here then, it was just the way the city felt, it was perfect. I moved down here with my band at the time; it all started out as a solo project, I was starting over and that just kind of morphed into The Soul Project and over the years; it has been 24 years almost and I can't believe it but it has been 24 years of molding, growing and learning from the ground up here in New Orleans."

Jordan Horton Joins the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey as Curator
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) has announced the hiring of Jordan Horton as its new Curator, effective August 5, 2024. Horton joins VACNJ after time spent as an independent curator, working on exhibitions in both New York and Maryland. Prior to that, they spent three years as an Andrew Mellon Curatorial Fellow at Williams College Museum of Art where they curated, co-curated, or contributed to such exhibitions as Mirrored Interiors: Films by Cecilia Aldaronado; Remixing the Hall: WCMA's Collection in Perpetual Transition and Sweaty Concepts; Repro-Japan: Technologies of Popular Visual Culture; Frank Zephirin: Selected Works; and Searching for Sticky Voids.

New Free Program for Teens at NJPAC Teaches Life Lessons Inspired by Wall Street Executive Ed Hajim
