The ShowRoom Cinema Launches "Back To School" Film Series This September

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- This September, The ShowRoom Cinema invites moviegoers to journey back to the hallways and hangouts of high school with their "Back To School" film series. This special series features a trio of beloved high school classics that perfectly capture the spirit and struggles of teenage life. Screenings will take place every Thursday evening at 7:30pm.

9/12 - Fast Times at Ridgemont High - Based on the real-life adventures chronicled by Cameron Crowe, Fast Times follows a group of high school students growing up in Southern California. Stacy Hamilton and Mark Ratner are looking for a love interest, and are helped along by their older classmates, Linda Barrett and Mike Damone, respectively. At the center of the film is Jeff Spicoli, a perpetually stoned surfer who faces-off with the resolute Mr. Hand—a man convinced that everyone is on dope. Starring: Brian Backer, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Robert Romanus, Sean Penn.

9/19 - American Graffiti - Set in the early '60s, this film takes you through one night in the lives of a group of friends on the brink of adulthood, capturing the essence of youth, freedom, and cruising. Starring: Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Paul Le Mat, Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard.

9/26 - Sixteen Candles - With the occasion all but overshadowed by her sister’s upcoming wedding, angst-ridden Samantha faces her 16th birthday with typical adolescent dread. Samantha pines for studly older boy Jake, but worries that her chastity will be a turnoff for the popular senior. Meanwhile, she must constantly rebuff the affections of nerdy Ted, who is unfortunately the only boy in school who seems to take an interest in her. Starring: Anthony Michael Hall, Gedde Watanabe, Haviland Morris, Michael Schoeffling, Molly Ringwald.

Don’t miss this chance to revisit—or discover for the first time—these timeless films that remind us all of the laughter, challenges, and excitement of teenage years.
