Lighthouse International Film Society to Screen "My Old Ass" on Thursday

(LOVELADIES, NJ) -- To create buzz prior to its national release on September 13th, Lighthouse International Film Society will screen My Old Ass at LBI's Foundation of the Arts and Sciences on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 8:00pm. Admission is free but advance registration is required.

In a fresh coming-of-age tale directed by Megan Park, 18-year-old Elliott (Maisy Stella) embarks on a psychedelic journey that brings her face-to-face with her wise-cracking 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). During this transformative mushroom trip, Elliott’s older self provides a humorous yet insightful perspective on the dos and don'ts of life, urging her to reconsider her decisions about family, love, and her future.

As Elliott navigates through this unexpected encounter, she begins to question and reshape her values and priorities, setting the stage for a summer of profound growth and self-discovery. This unique narrative blends comedy and drama, offering a heartfelt exploration of personal transformation.

NOTE: You must reserve your seat. Space is limited, please reserve in advance. Click here to reserve your seat.  The LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is located at 120 Long Beach Blvd in Loveladies, New Jersey.

Since its standing ovation at this year’s Sundance Film Festival,  its “Breakthrough Artist Award” from Variety and Golden Globes, My Old Ass has received rave reviews in industry trade publications and hailed as a “future classic.”
