(PRINCETON, NJ) -- West Windsor Arts Council is bringing its creative energy to MarketFair Shopping Center in Princeton, transforming the former Bobby’s Burger Palace into a welcoming new gallery, shop and studio space. The new arts center, called Whole World Arts, will initially be open four days a week beginning on June 17, 2021.
The public is invited to a special grand opening on Thursday, June 17, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Artists Jonathan “Lank” Connor and Liz Amaral, who are designing a mural for the space, will be painting live that day. Other activities are planned for the whole family to enjoy.
“We will continue to be guided by our mission to transform the world through the arts, but we are also adding new ideas to make our work even more relevant for our community,” says Aylin Green, executive director of West Windsor Arts Council. “We will be using sustainable studio practices whenever possible at Whole World Arts, and also encourage work that brings attention to the environment and creates a vision for a more just and sustainable world.”
Whole World Arts will offer:
Exhibition Space showcasing original fine art for sale in six new exhibitions a year. Opening receptions with artist talks will be hosted for each new exhibition.
Artisan Market selling handmade objects created by local artisans who focus on sustainable, handmade and recycled items.
Classes and Workshops in visual arts for youth and adults. Recycled materials will be used whenever possible.
Drop-In Art Club for young artists accompanied by a parent.
Art Kits will be for sale and can be completed on-site, at home or donated to a local charitable organization.
Art Parties that bring children and adults together to create art, such as paint parties, craft parties and more.
Partner Programs and Special Events offering drop-in arts programs upon request, in exchange for sponsorship support.
“We will support the work of new and established artists with a focus on those based in New Jersey but including a wider geographic range. Exhibitions and performances that inspire, promote art appreciation, and broaden, deepen, and diversify audiences across programs will be selected,” Green adds.
