Tropicana Atlantic City Presents The Gap Band on New Year's Eve

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The hottest night of the year just got funkified! The Gap Band, featuring founder Ronnie Wilson, will bring their rhythm-filled anthems and stormy ballads to Atlantic City for an incredible New Year’s Eve concert at Tropicana. Show time is 9:30pm on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in the Tropicana Showroom. Doors open at 8:30pm.

The Gap Band formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the late 1960s under stewardship of Robert Wilson. By the late 1970s, the group was scoring hits with songs like, “Party Train,” “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” “Early in the Morning,” “Outstanding” and “Shake.” The Gap Band soon became a band to be reckoned with and released 16 additional charting A-sides including “Open Up Your Mind’,” and “Yearning for Your Love” along with the number one R&B hit “Burn Rubber (Why You Wanna Hurt Me).”

Among the band’s many accolades is Dick Clark’s American Music Award and BMI’s Icon Urban Award. Their hit “Outstanding” has been used by more than 150 artists and remains one of the most sampled songs in history.

The Gap Band promises to deliver the music experience fans remember fused with a new sound that will leave audiences wanting more. The Gap Band has been and always will be a band commanding the attention of all ages. So, buckle up for a new ride in funk.
