(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The State Theatre has announced the 2015-16 Family Series sponsored by Bank of America. The series debuts on Friday, October 30 with Compañia Flamenca José Porcel and features a variety of performances for children of all ages including Peking Dreams featuring the National Circus and Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China on November 13-14, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer – The Musical on December 21, STOMP on January 15-16, and Masters of Illusion – Believe the Impossible on February 13.

Flamenco Fire celebrates the golden age of flamenco in an explosion of vibrant color, passionate rhythm, and intricate movement. The show embodies the soulful spirit of Spain’s enduring national art form and its roots in Gypsy, Jewish, Arabic, and Indian traditions. Considered Spain’s premier flamenco dancer and choreographer, José Porcel was a lead dancer with the renowned Ballet Nacional de España before forming his own company of virtuoso dancers, instrumentalists, and vocalists.

A jaw-dropping spectacle of Chinese circus and acrobatics performed by China’s most revered circus artists! The international percussion sensation has garnered armfuls of awards and rave reviews and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments—matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps—to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.
