originally published: 04/09/2018

Playhouse 22 Presents "Rumors" by Neil Simon(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s Community Theater, presents Rumors, a comedy by Neil Simon running April 13 - 29th.  Directed by Mark Kalet, Rumors take place in the home of the Deputy Mayor of New York City and his wife, on the night of their anniversary.

At a large, tastefully appointed Sneden's Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce. Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken and wife Chris must get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

For mature audiences only.

The cast includes Rob Capici as Ken Gorman; Sandy Casey as Chris Gorman; Kirk White as Lenny Ganz; Laurie Shephard as Claire Ganz; Mike Levine as Ernie Cusack; Deby Brandt as Cookie Cusack; Michael Gencarelli as Glenn Cooper Julie Freeman as Cassie Cooper; Ana Kalet as Officer Welch; and Leslie Margaret as Office Pudney.

Guests are invited to join the cast and crew for a special opening night reception, sponsored by the East Brunswick Stop and Shop and Ibby's Mediterranean Grill in East Brunswick, to be held after the April 13 performance.
