(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Old Library Theatre, Fair Lawn Recreation Department’s resident theater company, will present The 8th Annual One Act Play Festival from February 22-24. Produced by Sheryl Heffernan and Linda Wielkotz, the festival features five original works chosen from 690 submissions.
The works include: A Better Place by Eric Thomas, Florence, KY; Directed by Thomas Winkler. A rideshare driver picks up a traveler with an unusual destination request.
Corrections by Jackie Martin, Norwood, MA; Directed by Elizabeth Fahsbender. The husband of an imprisoned woman communicates his plans for the future.
Of Trash and Tiffany by Max Gutmann, Sunnyvale, CA; Directed by Matty Price. Post-breakup, a woman and her new girlfriend plot to retrieve a prized possession from the ex.
Instant Harmony by Joe Starzyk, Troy, NY; Directed by Sheryl Heffernan. With the help of a well-meaning friend, a man meets his online dating “perfect match.”
Last Chance by Makrenna Rose Sterden, Seoul, South Korea; Directed by Aaron Noriega. A teenage girl has to get creative to save her soul from the Devil.

Performances take place: Friday, February 22 at 8:00pm; Saturday, February 23 at 2:00pm & 8:00pm; and Sunday, February 24 at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. Old Library Theatre was started in 1967 in Fair Lawn by a handful of dreamers who wanted to make the joy of theatre performance available to everyone. The original theatre was on River Road, and several years ago moved to the George Frey Center for Performing Arts in the Fair Lawn Community Center.
