Old Library Theatre Presents 8th Annual One Act Play Festival

(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Old Library Theatre, Fair Lawn Recreation Department’s resident theater company, will  present The 8th Annual One Act Play Festival from February 22-24. Produced by Sheryl Heffernan and Linda Wielkotz, the festival features five original works chosen from 690 submissions.

The works include: A Better Place by Eric Thomas, Florence, KY; Directed by Thomas Winkler. A rideshare driver picks up a traveler with an unusual destination request.

Corrections by Jackie Martin, Norwood, MA; Directed by Elizabeth Fahsbender. The husband of an imprisoned woman communicates his plans for the future.

Of Trash and Tiffany by Max Gutmann, Sunnyvale, CA; Directed by Matty Price. Post-breakup, a woman and her new girlfriend plot to retrieve a prized possession from the ex.

Instant Harmony by Joe Starzyk, Troy, NY; Directed by Sheryl Heffernan. With the help of a well-meaning friend, a man meets his online dating “perfect match.”

Last Chance by Makrenna Rose Sterden, Seoul, South Korea; Directed by Aaron Noriega. A teenage girl has to get creative to save her soul from the Devil.

Actors for the festival include: Maria Diaz (Driver); Adam Mahonchak (Rider); Liz Kent (Lainey); Matt Masiello (Joe); Mary Lopez (Holly); Jessa Rose (Erin); Cassandra Lindeblad (Brittany); AJ Deliantis (Joe); Frank Riccobono (Chris); Javier Garcia (Jean-Remy); Hayley Michelle Pass (Waitress); Anastasia Robitaille (The Other Woman); Prema Maringanti (Angela); and Martin Pfefferkorn (The Devil).

Old Library Theatre (OLT), Fair Lawn Recreation Department’s resident theatre company, is a community theatre organization, located at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, committed to producing quality productions at an affordable price. Old Library Theatre was started in 1967 in Fair Lawn by a handful of dreamers who wanted to make the joy of theatre performance available to everyone. The original theatre was on River Road, and several years ago moved to the George Frey Center for Performing Arts in the Fair Lawn Community Center. Our mission is to provide quality entertainment in Bergen County, showcasing talented performers of all ages, shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and stages of development. Now in our 52nd season, we continue the tradition of quality community entertainment at an affordable cost.

OffBook Productions to hold auditions for "The Laramie Project"

(LITTLE FALLS, NJ) -- OffBook Productions will hold auditions for its upcoming fall production of The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project on July 23-24. The play was first produced by Denver Center Theater Company in February 2000. OffBook's production will run from October 24 to November 2, 2024 at First Reformed Church of Little Falls in Little Falls, NJ, a returning venue for the group's shows.
