(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Ghetto Surf Music recording artist Billy Hector is a multiple award winning guitarist and songwriter who has been performing for 40 years and is a legend in the New Jersey music scene. Hector will celebrate his 60th birthday at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park on Saturday, August 27 at 9:00pm.  Admission is $20.

During his career Billy Hector has worked with music legends such as Hubert Sumlin, Sonny Landreth and Joe Louis Walker.

In addition to appearing twice as an invited performer at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Mr. Hector was invited to perform at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for the “Leadbelly at 125” concert along with Robert Plant, Allison Krauss and others.

The title track from Billy’s latest CD, Old School Thang, has been included in WXPN’s regular rotation and the band recently performed at this summer’s XPoNential 2016 Music Festival.

To make his 60th birthday a special one, Billy adds The MIDNITE HORNS, a 3 piece horn section to his usual power trio sound. Come out and celebrate the 60th birthday milestone performance of one of New Jersey’s true musical treasures and show your appreciation for someone who has given us so much for so long.

Albert Music Hall to Celebrate 50th Anniversary on August 17th

​​​​​​​(WARETOWN, NJ) -- This year, Albert Music Hall is proudly celebrating its 50th Anniversary! The very first "Sounds of the Jersey Pines" show was held in November of 1974, and the weekly gathering of local musicians and music enthusiasts has continued ever since. Every Saturday night, visitors come to the Hall to enjoy a mix of Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Old Timey, Americana and Pinelands music, or to jam in Pickin' Shed.
