Mile Square Theatre Presents "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown"

originally published: 01/11/2017

(HOBOKEN, NJ) --  Mile Square Theatre presents the popular family musical comedy You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Opening MST’s 2nd season in its new space, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown maintains MST’s high standards for quality family theatre, and kicks off an eclectic season with a classic musical. The production runs February 3 through February 26.

This comic musical includes the whole gang from the beloved comic strip Peanuts: bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn’t give her the time of day, perfectionist Sally is still mocking blanket-toting Linus, Snoopy is in the doghouse, and the “blockhead” himself, Charlie Brown, is in rare form. Brief vignettes span the months from Valentine’s Day to Beethoven Day.

MST Artistic Director Chris O’Connor says of the show, “As we did last year, we’re kicking off our season with a show for families. We love this show because it reaches people of all ages. It works on so many levels. The characters are familiar to everybody, and Clark Gesner’s writing really captures the tone of the comic script.”

The play is based on the comic strip Peanuts® by Charles M. Schulz; Book, Music, and Lyrics by Clark Gesner; Additional Dialogue by Michael Mayer; Additional Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

Performances run February 3 through February 26. Fridays @ 7:00pm, Saturdays @ 2:00pm and 6:00pm, and Sundays @ 11:00am and 3:00pm.  All performances take place at Mile Square Theatre, 1400 Clinton Street in Hoboken, NJ.  Tickets are $30 / $15 students and seniors and are available at www.milesquaretheatre.org, or by calling 201-683-7014. Discounted parking available at Little Man Parking on 1300 Jefferson Street.
