(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The collective behind Music is The Medicine and members of The Amboys are no stranger to pushing the boundaries. They have created music and turned music into theatrical works, and now they have created a film company and their first feature film. It's called Kill Mills and it will have its premiere at House of Independents in Asbury Park on Saturday, November 26.
The film was shot last fall throughout New Jersey and features music by locals acts: Black Flamingos, Vampire Bats, and The Amboys. In addition, Jake Hughes (Hive-Mind, Amboys) composed an all original film score.
The film is described as, "Imagine combining the dark humor of a Quentin Tarantino classic with the sugary pop of your favorite breakfast cereal and you have a window into the world of Kill Mills, a unique collaboration of local filmmakers, actors, and musicians. Kill Mills tells the story of Yolanda Wallace who, after being double-crossed by a gang of cereal mascots called the Milkmen, must rise up and exact revenge, one scoop at a time. Cereal is a dish best served cold."
House of Independents is located at 572 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ. Admission is $20. Doors open at 6:30pm, screening is at 8:00pm.
