ArtsBergen Rolls Out New Logo

originally published: 11/23/2015

ArtsBergen Rolls Out New Logo(BERGEN COUNTY, NJ) -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation’s (NNJCF) ArtsBergen initiative is sporting a new look.  The Englewood, New Jersey based nonprofit organization announces that the initiative, an emerging arts alliance in Bergen County, New Jersey, selected a new logo created by creative director Ryan Huban.  Huban, Engagement Director with Words and Pictures Creative Service, an award-winning marketing agency based in Park Ridge, New Jersey, will receive recognition, design credit and a $500 honorarium.

The new logo was selected for ArtsBergen's diverse uses and its flexibility for mobile, digital and print applications.  The design will be rolled out to brand ArtsBergen's mission to energize and unify artists and arts organizations and connect the Bergen County community to the arts.

“We wanted a logo that could be adapted for ArtsBergen’s different purposes and tailored to the initiative’s needs.  The design offers a dynamic framework that may be customized to reflect ArtsBergen’s growing range of events and activities," said Michael Shannon, President, Northern New Jersey Community Foundation.

“The new logo functions as a scalable branding system.  Through simplicity and sophistication, the logo stands on its own, but can also expand within the context of its environment and even interact with other design or photographic elements," said Huban.

In October 2014, the NNJCF released an open call for artists and graphic designers in New Jersey to submit their portfolios and an application for consideration.  Applicants were reviewed on artistic sensibility, creativity and experience creating logo design work.  The following members of the community served on the artist/graphic designer review committee:  Nina Bachrach, Bergen Performing Arts Center; Sandy Chiappino, Flat Rock Brook Nature Center; Jacqueline S. Guttman, Arts for Life Network of NJ; Irmari Nacht, artist; and Larry Bauer, Bauer Printing.
