Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre presents "Inspiracions"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre presents "Inspiracions" at the Hungarian American Athletic Club in New Brunswick on Sunday, October 17th. The performance runs from 2:30pm-4:30pm. Join them for an afternoon of elegant classical Spanish dances, festive regional dances,a powerful protest dance and soulful, passionate Gypsy Flamenco.

Debut of exciting new choreography inspired by famous paintings of women awaits you, as Alborada brings the art to life onstage with original costumes, dance, song and music. From Goya’s pastoral painting; to Picasso’s Civil War Drawing; to BTOY, Contemporary Barcelona Artist’s Anti Women’s Trafficking Street Art; Inspiraciones will take you on an unforgettable journey through centuries of beautiful and powerful women’s images.

Tickets: General Admission $30 Seniors/Students $20.  Tickets are available for purchase online.

Alborada is a non-profit organization. Tickets are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Proceeds will benefit Alborada’s programming for K-12 schools, community outreach presentations and special needs facilities. 

Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund. Program funded in part by a grant to Middlesex County by the New Jersey Historical Commission. Also funded, in part, by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.

An adaptation of August Bournonville's romantic classic La Sylphide, this piece re-imagines the tale of a Scotsman's pursuit of a mystical forest spirit.
