originally published: 10/23/2012
(LAKEWOOD, NJ) -- The Strand Center for the Arts cordially invites you to celebrate 90 years of their existence for a night of live music, a decadent dinner, cocktails, a silent auction and more. The Strand's 90th Anniversary Gala will take place on Tuesday, October 30th at the theater at 6:00PM, and all are encouraged to attend and help create a milestone in the theater's history, located at 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, N.J.

This night will include a dinner buffet included in ticket price that will feature chef selections from restaurants throughout the state, and will honor and pay tribute to Mrs. Blanche Lombardi, the Inaugural Strand Center for the Arts Legacy Award Winner; Lawrence E. Bathgate, II, Founding Partner of Lakewood law firm Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf; John J. Franklin, former Lakewood Township Committeeman; and Denise and Richard Blackstone, Directors of Denise Daniele Dance Studio in Brick, NJ.

Tickets for this special event are $150 per person or $250 per couple (plus service charge). They can be purchased online, or three hours prior to the event at the Strand's box office. Don't miss this celebration; it will be one for the books!

The Strand has brought cultural arts to the Jersey Shore since its inception in 1922, and the theater has remained a staple for Jersey Shore entertainment. Top acts including Milton Berle, Loudon Wainwright, George Burns, and Don McLean have taken the stage here, in addition to numerous well-known companies and shows. Architecturally, The Strand has exemplary sight lines, with no obstructing pillars or uprights. The acoustics are notably effective since it was built at a time when performers relied on their own voices. Today, The Strand is known as one of the best acoustical theaters in the nation and is a top live entertainment venue.

For additional information about the Gala, please contact Barbara Fedorchak, Development Director, at 732-367-7789 x217 or Steve Buccarelli, Marketing Manager, at 732-367-7789 x215 or sbuccarelli@strand.org or visit www.strand.org.
