Vanguard Theater Presents Home for the Holidays, a Benefit Concert, On December 19th


(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- “Winter Wonderland,” “It’s Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas,” “When You Believe,” and “The Hanukkah Song,” are just some of the holiday classics that will be performed on Sunday, December 19th at 7:00pm when Vanguard Theater performers from arts programs ranging from Berklee College of Music to The Harr School, Webster Conservatory to Yale University, perform in a benefit concert to replenish Vanguard’s scholarship fund. Part concert, sing along, and party, this concert is for all ages!


NJ Theatre Alliance Seeks Submissions Reflecting the Theme of Caregiving For Stages Festival Program


New Jersey professional and family caregivers are invited to submit all forms of creative writing, including  prose, poetry, and theatrical pieces that reflect the theme of caregiving or the personal healing experience. Selected pieces will be woven together by professional theatre artists into an evening of readings celebrating, exploring, and bearing witness to the caregiving experience during Healing Voices: Caregivers Stories on Stage is part of New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s 25th Annual Stages Festival.


Radha Blank Is Inaugural Recipient of $35,000 Hermitage Major Theater Award


Andy Sandberg, Artistic Director and CEO of the Hermitage Artist Retreat, announced on December 14, 2021 that playwright and director Radha Blank has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Hermitage Major Theater Award. This national jury-selected prize, established by the Hermitage earlier in 2021 with generous support from the Kutya Major Foundation, offers one of the largest non-profit theater commissions in the country.

Cosmic Holiday Billy Bash 2021 To Take Place December 26th


(LAKE COMO, NJ) -- Salty's Beach Bar hosts Cosmic Holiday Billy Bash 2021 on Sunday, December 26 with live music by Cosmic Jerry Band & Friends from 2:00pm to 10:00pm. Admission is $20 with a donation of canned goods to benefit Fullfill New Jersey, the local food bank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties. Doors open at 1:00pm.


State Theatre presents Salute to Vienna with annual New Year’s Eve Concert


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Salute to Vienna - their annual New Year’s Eve Concert on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 4:00pm. A beloved annual New Year’s tradition at the State Theatre for 15 years, this year’s program features conductor Gregory Vajda and The Strauss Symphony of America; along with soprano Micaëla Oeste and tenor Norman Reinhardt; and dancers from First State Ballet Theatre. Tickets range from $39-$125. 


Broadway Stars and Dancers from Dance Theatre of Harlem join NJ Festival Orchestra for New Year’s celebrations


(WESTFIELD NJ) -- On Friday, December 31 at 7:00pm, under the baton of Maestro David Wroe, New Jersey Festival Orchestra again presents one of New Jersey’s most popular New Year’s Eve musical celebrations. This year’s performance, “Steppin’ Back Out,” promises a superb review of American musical theatre song and dance showstoppers presented in glorious symphonic splendor to herald the arrival of the New Year. The performance takes place in the Westfield High School auditorium.

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents Deon Cole to the Prudential Hall Betty Wold Johnson stage on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 8:00pm. He's known as a triple threat: a comedian, actor, and writer.  You may have seen him as the character of adjunct college professor "Charlie" on ABC's Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning show Black-ish.


Vivid Stage Offers Winter Improv Classes for Adults and Teens


(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre is offering in-person improv classes for adults and teens aged 18 and up in Summit. The classes, taught by a rotating team of instructors including Laura Ekstrand, Dave Maulbeck and Emaline Williams, will be held Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm-9:00pm starting January 12 and ending March 2. All students will be asked to show proof of vaccination upon registration.

“Dancing with the Stars" Comes To MPAC In January


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- America’s favorite dance show is back on tour this winter to celebrate its 30th Season with “Dancing with the Stars – Live Tour 2022.” The tour stops at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown for two performances, Tuesday-Wednesday, January 11-12, 2022. Tickets range from $79-$149 and special VIP packages are also available.

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Tickets will go on sale January 18 for the Mason Gross School of the Arts’ spring 2022 season at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center in downtown New Brunswick. Mason Gross is offering live events from February through May at NBPAC in jazz, opera, and contemporary dance, as well as screenings of original works by student filmmakers and visits from professional filmmakers. WBGO Celebrates The Career Of Michael Bourne Ahead Of His Retirement


(NEWARK, NJ) -- After thirty-eight years on the air, Michael Bourne, current host of Singers Unlimited and Blues Break as well as previous host of Afternoon Jazz, will retire from WBGO at the end of 2021. A live, star-studded radio program on Sunday, January 2, Michael's last as a WBGO employee, will cap a month-long celebration of his legacy on WBGO.
