The Salvation Army of New Jersey continues to see severe food insecurity statewide, as a result of the pandemic, the devastating effects of Hurricane Ida, and other personal challenges facing residents throughout the state. Since COVID-19 hit in March of 2020, The Salvation Army New Jersey Division has provided more than 12.2 million meals to those in need and the organization is making sure no family or individual goes without a hot Thanksgiving meal this year.

The following is a preliminary list of the Salvation Army Corps locations throughout New Jersey where meals will be distributed and/or served throughout the Thanksgiving week and on Thanksgiving Day: 

• Asbury Park Corps is holding a drive-through food distribution starting at 9:00am on Friday, November 19.


• Atlantic City Corps is participating with two other nonprofits in the City’s Nutrition Holiday Meal Box event, serving 500 Turkey dinners to go and preparing 200 hot meals for homeless individuals on Monday, November 22 at 11:00am in front of City Hall.


• Camden Corps is conducting a Thanksgiving food distribution on Saturday, November 20. Please call to sign-up for meals. 


• Bridgeton Corps will hold a food distribution on Monday, November 22.


• Elizabeth Temple Corps is serving a Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday, November 24 at 12:00pm.


• Hackensack is hosting a food distribution Wednesday, November 24 beginning at 9:00am.


• Jersey City Corps is serving a Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday, November 24 at 5:00pm.


• Kearny Corps is hosting a food distribution on Thursday, November 18 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.


• Montclair Citadel Corps will hold a meal distribution on Wednesday, November 24 and will serve a sit-down meal on Thursday, November 25.


• Morristown Corps is hosting a food distribution and community event on Tuesday, November 23 from 9:00am - 11:00am and again from 2:00pm - 5:00pm.


• Ocean County Citadel Corps will hold a food distribution on Monday, November 22 from 1:00pm - 3:30pm and a take-out meal distribution on Wednesday, November 24 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.


• Plainfield will distribute meals on Sunday, November 21 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.


• Passaic Corps is serving meals and holding a food distribution for the community on Thanksgiving Day, November 25 from 11:30am to 12:30pm.


• Plainfield Corps will distribute meals to go on Sunday, November 21 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.


• Red Bank Corps is hosting an all-day food distribution on Friday, November 19 from 10:00am to 7:00pm.   


• Trenton Corps will hold a food distribution on Thursday, November 18 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm and a canteen on Wednesday, November 24.
