Downtown Vineland Hosts "Christmas In July on the Ave""

originally published: 07/14/2021

(VINELAND, NJ) -- Downtown Vineland will be getting into the Yuletide spirit a bit early this year—with a summer twist—as Main Street Vineland presents “Christmas in July on The Ave” on Saturday, July 24, rain or shine, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. For three hours, Vineland’s downtown district—The Ave—will get into the spirit of the holidays with fun and attractions for the entire family.

Santa Claus will make a special trip down from the North Pole—complete in summer attire—with his magical sleigh—in front of the Main Street Vineland office at Sixth Street and Landis Avenue. Have a chance to have your picture taken with Santa.

The event will also feature a live radio remote by WVLT 92.1 FM and a special musical performance by Higbee’s Heroes (show at top) —an a cappella vocal quartet that has performed throughout the Delaware Valley, including at Main Street Vineland’s 2019 Food Truck Festival on The Ave. Retail and restaurant specials will also be part of the fun.

This will be a prelude to “An Olde Fashioned Christmas on The Ave,” to take place from December 3 through 5 in downtown Vineland. This three-day holiday extravaganza will turn back the calendar to Christmas days of old—a weekend loaded with fun activities and opportunities to come to The Ave to enjoy the festivities and do holiday shopping.

“We want to bring back the traditional Christmas spirit to The Ave and make it fun and exciting for the entire family,” said Josie Spinelli, chairperson for both events. “The July event is an opportunity to whet your appetite for December. Take a break from the heat waves and enjoy some Yuletide cool. Come one, come all!”

“‘Christmas in July’ and ‘An Olde Fashioned Christmas’ will be opportunities to show off The Ave at its best, get people into the spirit of fun, unity, and fellowship, and to bring more people to see our wonderful downtown,” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Russell Swanson. “Josie and her committee have been working hard to create memorable events that will show the best we have to offer.”
