Richie Furay of Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and Souther-Hillman-Furay Bands To Host Livestream Concert To Benefit Non-Profits

originally published: 08/17/2020

(BOULDER, CO) -- Richie Furay, an American Country-Rock music luminary and pioneer, is a Colorado Music Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and a founding member of the legendary musical groups Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and the Souther-Hillman-Furay bands. On August 27, 2020, at his Boulder, Colorado property, from 9:00pm, Eastern Time, 7:00pm Mountain Time, and 6:00pm Pacific Time, Furay is hosting a live streaming concert for his loyal fans and to support a collection of non-profit organizations needing help due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Furay’s fans will watch and experience, on multimedia platforms and from the comfort of their own home or place, his LIVE stream concert broadcasting from his back porch. Furay, special guests, and friends will be performing songs from throughout his musical career. And an hour before the show, fans have the opportunity to join his virtual VIP Meet & Greet. Tickets are available online. For a limited time, patrons can purchase $15-$60 VIP tickets at www.RichieFuray.com/tour.

"We had planned concerts as part of a farewell tour this past Spring since I was retiring from headline touring. Those shows were cancelled due to Covid-19, so I never got to perform any of them. When the idea of doing a show from my back porch was mentioned by my manager, David Stone, I thought this is an awesome idea. It only made sense to support these nonprofit music organizations due to COVID-19. I have already performed at (and continue to support) The Guitar Center Foundation fundraiser, The Wild Honey Orchestra’s Buffalo Springfield tribute concert fundraiser, South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) Fundraisers (for the past decade), and National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) fundraiser.

"My entertainment attorney, David Helfant, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Guitar Center Music Foundation. My manager is a Board Member of SOPAC. Paul Rock leads the efforts of The Wild Honey Foundation which raises money through concerts for various charitable causes, including autism, and financial support for failing musicians, and NIVA, whose mission is to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent live music venues and promoters throughout the United States," Furay said.

All ticket proceeds raised from this concert will support these musical organizations and projects including: National Independent Venue Association, The Guitar Center Foundation, The Wild Honey Orchestra Foundation, South Orange Performing Arts Center, Oksana Foundation, and The Richie Furay Documentary Film (Through It All - The Life and Influence of Richie Furay, currently in production by Co-Producers David Stone and Denny Klein of DSDK Productions). This concert will not be available on Demand or viewable any other time.
