Montclair Film Festival Rescheduled To October

originally published: 07/24/2020

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The 9th Annual Montclair Film Festival, originally scheduled to take place May 1-10, 2020 before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been rescheduled for October 16 through 25, 2020.

For the first time, the festival will feature a program of drive-in screenings, virtual screenings, special events, and conversations. The full program, schedule, and venues will be announced on October 2, 2020, with tickets on-sale to Montclair Film Members on October 5, and public tickets available October 8.

More information about the festival’s plans will be made available in the coming weeks, ahead of the full program announcement.

“In the months since we were forced to postpone the Montclair Film Festival, our team has been working hard to research and prepare for the opportunity to bring the festival back,” said Montclair Film Executive Director Tom Hall. “It is critically important to us that our festival represents the best possible experience for our filmmakers, patrons, and sponsors, because we will need their full support as we try new things together. Back in March, we intentionally postponed the festival and did not cancel, because we knew then that, with a little time and patience, we could explore new opportunities and learn from the changes taking place in the industry and our community. As the festival continues to take shape, we’re confident we can deliver an exciting, vibrant event. We look forward to sharing our full plans soon.”

Montclair Film, a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization connects filmmakers from around the region and world with audiences by presenting films and year-round programs that engage, educate, and entertain through the power of visual storytelling. The ninth annual Montclair Film Festival will take place from October 16-25, 2020. Our programs are made possible with funds from the New Jersey Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism, as well as the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, among many others. Montclair Film provides unique and meaningful ways to engage with diverse, creative, and sophisticated audiences and seeks sponsors for its signature spring film festival and other year-round programs that attract more than 46,000 annual attendees and generate more than 750 million media impressions yearly.
