C. Parker Gallery Presents "Growin' Up: Bruce Springsteen at 70"

originally published: 07/23/2019

(GREENWICH, CT) — Bruce Springsteen will celebrate his 70th birthday on September 23rd and C. Parker Gallery has put together a terrific birthday exhibit to honor the occasion.  They’ve designed a never-before seen collection of Bruce Springsteen photographs, gold records, signed memorabilia and artwork featuring “The Boss.”  The exhibit, entitled, “Growin’ Up – Bruce Springsteen at 70” opens on Thursday, September 19 and runs through Sunday, September 29.

Some of the many highlights of “Growin’ Up – Bruce Springsteen at 70” include rare unpublished 1972 – 1975 photographs from Bruce’s earliest days performing in the Philadelphia area from the late photographer and Springsteen friend, Phil Ceccola.  In addition, award winning photographer Debra Rothenberg, author of the book, “Bruce Springsteen In Focus 1980 – 2012” will showcase her acclaimed photographs. No other professional photographer has been behind the camera at Springsteen concerts for as many years as Rothenberg.  Other Springsteen photographers include works from René van Diemen, Jeff Ross, Rocco Coviello, Guy Aceto, David Denenberg and others.

All eras of Springsteen’s rise to superstardom will be highlighted in this exhibit from his early bearded days where in one photograph Bruce is shown wearing shoes that don’t match to his “All-American” look of Born in the USA, to today.  “Growin’ Up – Bruce Springsteen at 70” features over a dozen photographers plus an incredibly archived personal collection from a 40+ year Springsteen collector with autographed items and rare memorabilia.

Join C. Parker Gallery and highly acclaimed Springsteen photographer Debra Rothenberg at the opening reception on Thursday, Sept 19th at 7:00pm. Signed photographs and books will be available for purchase. Come party like a boss as we celebrate Bruce Springsteen “Growin’ Up”.
