1st Annual Roselle Park Jazz Festival

originally published: 07/16/2019

(ROSELLE PARK, NJ) -- Let’s swing!  The first annual Roselle Park Jazz Festival will heat up the summer on Saturday, July 27 from 3:00pm-8:30pm at the Michael J. Mauri Park, Chestnut Street & Grant Avenue, in the gazebo.  Free for all attendees, main stage headliners include the JTole Jazz Orchestra featuring special guests, jazz guitar powerhouse Dave Stryker with up-and-coming vocalist Samantha Powell, and the 17-piece George Gee Swing Orchestra.

Also featured on the main stage are 70 young talented jazz musicians from the two-week JTole Summer Jazz Workshop in partnership with New Jersey Youth Symphony, led by Roselle Park resident and award-winning saxophonist, Julius Tolentino, who also serves as Festival director.

Bring your dancing shoes for the free swing dancing lesson for all ages at 5:00pm and some pocket change for the great variety of artisan vendors and food trucks to appease every appetite and shopping desire.  Adult attendees ages 21, and over with ID, can enjoy an ice-cold brew in the Climax Brewing Co. Beer Garden.

This FREE community event is brought to you by the Borough of Roselle Park and Jazz Changes, a nonprofit organization focused on providing children with jazz education, instruction and mentorship opportunities, and through the generous donations of numerous event sponsors. The Roselle Park Jazz Festival is produced by Wood Legacy Productions.

Rain date is Sunday, July 28.  Bring your lawn chairs, your good vibes and be prepared for a great time!  For the latest information, follow the Roselle Park Jazz Festival on Instagram and Facebook.
