The Shakespeare Theatre Kicks Off Fall Season with Classic British Comedy, "Charley's Aunt"

(MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s 56th season leaps into the chill of autumn with a classic that will warm the hearts of people of all ages. Charley’s Aunt, the hilarious late 19th century comedy of manners by Brandon Thomas, will be presented for the first time on the STNJ stage.  Joseph Discher returns to direct. Returning company favorites John Ahlin, Peter Simon Hilton, David Andrew Macdonald, and Erika Rolfsrud are featured amongst the cast of 10 that will bring this delightful farce to life. Performances run from October 24 through November 18.


Circle Players Announces Audition Technique Classes

(PISCATAWAY, NJ) -- Circle Players in Piscataway announces two 'drop-in' audition technique classes. One class will be offered on Saturday October 13, 2018, and the other on Saturday October 20, 2018. Both classes will be taught by director Jessica Damrow Sherman.

PAC The House Series Continues At Hackensack Performing Arts Center

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Hackensack Main Street Business Alliance and the City of Hackensack have announced the latest group of musical artists to participate in second annual “PAC the House” series at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC). Tickets for the performances range from $40 to $60. Artists include John Pizzarelli, Elijah Bland, Amy Helm, Flor de Toloache, and Marc Cohn.


Leonia Chamber Musicians Society Announces New 2018-2019 Season

(LEONIA, NJ) -- The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization based in the borough of Leonia, New Jersey, announces the launch of their 2018-2019 season.

(NEWTON, NJ) -- English songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Denny Laine is best known for his roles as former guitarist and lead singer of The Moody Blues and, later, co-founder with Paul McCartney of Wings. Laine  will perform at The Newton Theatre on Saturday, January 12 at 8:00pm.

Garden State Film Festival Announces Call For Entries For 2019 Festival

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) --The Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) has announced that its annual “Call for Entries” is open now through December 1, 2018. The festival, New Jersey’s largest and most respected film festival, accepts all film genres from documentaries, animation, children's, narrative, trailers, Web Series/ New Media, and short films, as well as music videos, commercials, trailers, music competition, and student projects. Additionally, submissions are also being accepted for film scoring and music, as well as the “Home Grown” category, which includes offerings of which 75 percent or more has been shot in New Jersey. Complete details for submissions and the requirements for consideration can be found on the GSFF web site at www.gsff.org.  


Inside The 19th Rutgers Jewish Film Festival

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) --  The Rutgers Jewish Film Festival heads into its nineteenth season, October 30 through November 11, offering a great diversity of award-winning, international films. Fifteen feature films, five New Jersey premieres, and thought-provoking discussions with filmmakers, actors, scholars, and other noteworthy guests will be featured. The festival will be held at two venues: AMC Loews New Brunswick 18, 17 US Highway 1 South, New Brunswick (AMC); and Princeton Garden Theatre, 160 Nassau Street, Princeton (PGT). The festival is sponsored by Rutgers’ Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life.

MPAC Hosts Free Screening of "Intelligent Lives"

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- A free screening of Intelligent Lives, a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib, will take place at Mayo Performing Arts Center on Monday, October 22 at 7:00pm. Following the screening, a Q/A discussion will be held with Richard Feldman and Janice Fialka, parents of one of the subjects of the documentary. The free screening is made possible by the generous support of Bruce and Ilene Jacobs.

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The Centenary Stage Company (CSC) has the perfect opportunity for theatre, music and dance lovers who would like to enjoy great entertainment on a limited budget.  CSC is once again seeking volunteer ushers for upcoming performances in the Lackland Performing Arts Center, which will include the professional performances of Bram Stoker’s DRACULA (Oct 12-28),  ROMEO AND JULIET  by the NJ Ballet (Nov 3 & 4), the annual holiday musical ANNIE (Nov 23 – Dec 9), as well as many other events throughout the 2018-19 professional season.
