(NEW YORK, NY) -- Richard Lloyd, a founding member of Television, will be making the rounds to promote his new rock music memoir: Everything Is Combustible: Television, CBGB's and Five Decades of Rock and Roll. On Thursday, January 25 at 7:00pm, he will be at The Strand Bookstore (828 Broadway, New York, NY) where he will be interviewed by Chris Frantz, drummer for the Talking Heads, and sign copies of his book. On January 26 he will be at Little City Books (100 Bloomfield Street) in Hoboken at 7:00 with Jim Mastro for a book chat, signing, and music. And, on January 27, he will be appearing at Rough Trade NYC (64 N 9th Street) in Brooklyn with David Godlis, book signing, talk, and photograph gallery.
In his memoir, Richard Lloyd has chronicled his life, starting in Pittsburgh and moving through New York City, with a cast full of music legends. Lloyd uses his distinct voice to tell about his band's humble beginnings, to their rise and beyond, his drug addiction and recovery, and his touring adventures with artists such as Matthew Sweet, John Doe, and Robert Quine. Lloyd also details his solo years, including the backstory of his iconic and critically-acclaimed records such as Alchemy and Field of Fire.
Throughout this memoir Lloyd recalls the heyday of the New York rock music scene, filling the void in the written records of music history, and giving the first complete account of Television from one of the founding members.
Lloyd, born in in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1951, is a world renowned electric guitarist, songwriter, recording artist and a founding member of Television. As an author, Lloyd was a regular columnist with Guitar World Magazine: the "Alchemical Guitarist." As an autodidact, he has developed extensive expertise in many scientific and religious areas, and believes in the alchemical rule: "one book opens another." He has released several critically adored solo albums, and now written the memoir Everything Is Combustible, which deeply reveals his passion for music, drugs, spirituality, and the universe.
