(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Award-winning violinist Bomsori Kim makes her debut on the SOPAC stage March 5 at 3:00pm. Ms. Kim, a native of Korea, has achieved the highest levels at many competitions and has performed with major symphony orchestras throughout the world. The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) presents this international artist as part of the Juilliard @ SOPAC series.
Bomsori Kim graduated from Seoul National University and studied with international celebrity and violinist Young Uck Kim. Ms. Kim is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Juilliard School under the direction of classical artists Sylvia Rosenberg and Ronald Copes. With the support of Kumho Asiana Instrument Bank, Ms. Kim plays a Joannes Baptista Guadagnini violin, Turin 1774 at her concerts.
After her international debut in the 4th Sendai International Music Competition (2010) where she was the youngest prize winner, Ms. Kim achieved “Laureate” in the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. Subsequently, she has achieved great success with wins at several competitions including the Tchaikovsky International Competition and the prestigious designation of “Laureate” in the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
She has displayed her artistry at performances in Vienna Musikverein Golden Hall, Slovak Radio Concert Hall, Finlandia Hall, Herkulessaal, Prinzregententheater, Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Hall, Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall and many more.
