RVCC Presents The Video Show: 4th International Exhibition of Video and Digital Media Installation

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Visual and Performing Arts Department will present The Video Show: 4th International Exhibition of Video and Digital Media Installation, a show of contemporary work in video art, February 20-March 10, in the Art Gallery at the College’s Branchburg Campus.

The exhibition presents a wide range of contemporary video work, including poetic, abstract, documentary, and experimental pieces. Artworks are presented as projections, incorporated into sculptural installations, and are interactive with the audience through cameras and the Internet. A continuous loop screening of the videos will be shown during open gallery hours.

A screening of all pieces will run continuously on Thursday, February 23, starting at 10 a.m., followed by an Artists’ Talk from 5-6 p.m. and an opening reception from 6-7 p.m. All are free of charge and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The show was juried by Lydia Grey of Somerville, a video/performance artist and adjunct instructor at RVCC; Kelly Oliver of Raritan, an adjunct instructor and multimedia specialist at RVCC; Darren McManus of Lambertville, a full-time instructor and gallery coordinator at RVCC; and Ann Tsubota of Pittstown, a full-time professor of art at RVCC.

Gallery hours are Mondays, 3-8 p.m.; Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 3-8 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Fridays, 1-4 p.m. The gallery is located in the lower level of the College Center. For further information, contact the Visual and Performing Arts Department, 908-218-8876.
