Bands To Perform Benefit For Filmmaker

originally published: 04/08/2015

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The local music community is banding together to help raise funds for documentary filmmaker, Jose Escamilla.  On Sunday, April 26 from 2pm to 6pm, the bands Mikell's Plot, Broken Angels, Mike Walsh and Departure, Chris Seabasty, Bullet Train, Magical Voodoo Revue, Smoking Catfish, and the Dana Gaynor Band will rock the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.  The show is all ages to enter and 21 to drink.  Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  All proceeds go to Escamilla for his heart treatments.

Escamilla is currently working on three documentary films: UFOs From Outer Space, ORBS and They Live In The Skies (RODS film) and the feature film "The Battle Of Los Angeles."  When recently hopitalized, doctors foound a blockage in his heart and put stents in three arteries.  He set up a gofundme.com webpage to raise $5,000 for treatments and therapy that his Medi-Cal doesn't cover. To date, nearly $5,300 has been raised on the internet.

Money is still needed for IV therapy at a clinic in Los Angeles. Each of his treatments costs between $ 250.00 to $450.00 per IV.  The IV Therapy is what they call Mineral Cocktails full of vitamins, herbs and high mineral content. These are used to curb his diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, high blood pressure and lead him to a healthier heart.

Advance tickets are available at Stageright Music Studios in Woodbridge New Jersey or at the Stone Pony box office www.thestonepony.com  The Stone Pony is located at 913 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ. The event is presented Mikell's Plot and Stageright Music Studios.
