Life however, is full of twists and turns and after a wildly successful EP release party Cat let her path meander off course a bit, pursuing instead, another avenue; that of improv comedy. The raven haired solo artist had begun to re-awaken another passion and having dabbled in it while in college in Ewing, NJ; the transition was very natural. So much so, that Cat now teaches her own improv classes, plays parts in several groups and is very comfortable in her role as student, teacher and contributing comic.
Next Saturday July 19, Cat is using all of her resources and talents as she has organized a charity event benefitting "Move For Hunger," an organization whose name reflects exactly what it does. "Move For Hunger" seeks out individuals, families or anyone vacating a home and willing comes out to take all non perishable food items; even going as far to pack them up. They then take them to the local food bank where they will be distributed to families in need.
"I've known Adam (Move For Hunger head man Adam Lowy) for several years now," said London. "He has been booking me through my music. I've been doing improv for about ten years and professionally now for about four years and Adam; he's become a close friend of mine. I am doing this now because I finally feel like now is the time. I finally feel comfortable enough and I've got the experience where I can do it and the Art Center has been kind enough to give us the venue to do it so..."
Cat's voice trailed off but quickly became excited once again as she spoke fondly of the three improv troops who will be performing at the benefit. "I have been working with these troops for the last two years, Helicopter Dance-Off is local to Asbury Park, McDonald and Carney and Wells Fargeaux are doing this as well. They are normally a ten person troop but I'm not sure how many they will be bringing along; I'm thinking possibly at least eight of their members. They are funny and such great people to work with."
Cat says that the show will be comprised of "Short Form" and "Long Form" comedy as well as "Gimmicky games and scenes" reminiscent of the popular TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" "Most of the night will be made up of audience suggestions," she explained. "This will be true improv (laughs)."
AS far as London's music career goes; "Well, my music is under wraps right now," she said with a laugh. "I am working on a new CD and a video. This one will be vastly different from my other one; it's a concept album and the amount of tunes on it will be directly related to how much I can raise through a Kickstarter; but stay tuned."
This 8 p.m. all ages show will be held at the Middletown Arts Center located at 36 Church Street in Middletown, NJ. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available at www.middletownartcenter.org.

Locally, Tom Reock is doing it again with another Reock & Roll Review July 12 and 13 at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theater. This mid-summer show is a virtual highlight reel of the previous six classic rock albums that Reock and his amazing assembled cast have recreated in the past. The Beatles "White Album," The Who's "Quadrophenia," Allman Brothers "Eat A Peach," Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's "Deja Vu," The Band's "Music From Big Pink" and Eric Clapton's "Journeyman" will all be featured in this great musical recreation of rock legends and Reocks now legendary series. Saturday's performance is an 8 p.m. show and Sunday is a 2 p.m. matinee; both shows have a ticket price of $25.
